Style inspiration from the Golden Globes 2015

I had quite a break from blogging at the end of last year. This was due to renovations on our flat and starting a new job at Sew Over It in Clapham, London as the Wholesale and Pattern Co-ordinator! But now the renovations are finished and i'm all settled in at work so i've had time to get some sewing done. I've got lots of projects i've been doing over the last few months so plenty to blog about this year.

Apart from all the patterns I've been making, i'll be releasing some more Sewing City Guides and also a new area of sewing i'll be getting into - makes for my niece or nephew who is due later this year! I've also been doing some pattern hacks and drafting some of my own designs.

First I thought I would start with something a bit different, style inspiration from the Golden Globe Awards. Now i'm not one for following high-street trends but I do like to look for style inspiration from lots of different places.

Here is a link to lots of photos from from the Awards. There were six main styles from the evening.

1) High neckline with fitted bodice and floor length skirt: take a look at dresses worn by Diane Kruger, Felicity Jones and Ruth Wilson. How about a sleeveless version of the Mortmain Dress by Gather with a lengthened skirt? Or the Francoise dress by Tilly and the Buttons with a lengthened skirt? Or Hepburn dress by Audrey and Me patterns?
